As the umbrella for all Indian related activities at the Institute, the India Forum participates in several projects which facilitate mobility to and from India as well as research, teaching, publications and events.
Foundations of the Indo-European Strategic Partnership
In the framework of the new program "Indo-German Partnerships in Higher Education", the German Academic Exchange Service DAAD has granted around EUR 375,000 for new projects that see the University of Würzburg cooperate with partners in Delhi. The project "Foundations of the Indo-European strategic partnership" is located at the IPS India Forum. Political scientists from IPS and Jawaharlal Nehru University New Delhi analyse European and Indian political thinking in comparative perspective as well as foundations, principles and structures of Indo-European relations. Moreover, an important aspect of the project is the promotion of student mobility to and from India.
The cooperation is made possible through the funding initiatives Indo-German Partnerships in Higher Education and A New Passage to India and is financially supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) with funds from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). Out of the initiative arose the interdisciplinary Centre for Modern India Studies at Würzburg University. ICAS:MP is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
