German-Russian Spring and Summer Academies

Since 2012 and until the Corona pandemic and the escalation of the Ukraine crisis in 2021/22, Russian and German students met in the summer and the following spring to learn about and exchange ideas on Russian and European topics of domestic and foreign policy, history and culture. In summer, the European Summer Academy took place in Otzenhausen, for which the Russian students flew to Germany. The return visit always took place in spring: The German students from the universities of Würzburg, Bielefeld and Koblenz-Landau traveled to St. Petersburg to participate in the Russian Spring Academy together with their Russian fellow students.
