Join our Summer Module Course to explore Mechanisms of Social Inequality

Join us at the University of Würzburg’s Institute of Political Science and Sociology to explore social inequalities. The English-speaking course is aimed at higher education students from all over the world and takes place from July 19th to July 23rd 2021. It consists of keynotes and workshops from experts on social inequality research.

The focus of the international summer module course is on the mechanisms of the emergence and reproduction of social inequalities and their consequences. In our summer module course, you will learn about social inequalities in different areas of society: in education, the economy, and healthcare.

By the end of the course, you will be able to critically examine social inequalities in different areas of society and to reflect upon appropriate solutions and proposals for action.

Study Format: Virtual Summer Module Course that will be held exclusively online via Zoom
Language: English
Duration: One week from July 19th to July 23rd 2021
Scope: Certificate of attendance that is credited with 5 ECTS
Eligibility: Current higher education students (graduate or undergraduate) from outside Germany or individuals interested in German politics and entitled to study at a university, or German citizens not previously and not currently enrolled at a German university
Costs: Semester fee of € 142.70; scholarships are available
Application: Filled-in application form, scan of passport (required for enrolment at the university of Würzburg), copies of certificates that entitle you to be admitted to a university, short CV, declaration of health insurance obligation of students according to § 199a SGB V for the summer semester 2021 (non-EU applicants) or copy of your European Health Insurance Card (EU applicants)

Class of 2019

In February 2019, the Institute of Political Science and Sociology organized a sociological Winter Module Course on Big Data. Students from all over the world were guests in Würzburg. Bachelor, Master and PhD students from 8 different countries participated in various discussions, workshops and seminars.
