Transformation through co-construction of different forms of knowledge?

01/15/2023

"Transformation. For whom? By whom? With whom?"- this was the question discussed by research associate Linda Koch together with the other participants at the 19th meeting of the Young Environmental Sociologists' Group at the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg.

The potential and conflict of combining science and activism ran throughout the program. This was also taken up by the keynote speakers Manuela Zechner and Ashish Kothari. The presentations and discussions focused on transformations, particularly in the food system, rural areas and science. In the panel "Knowledge in Transformation: On the Role of Science and Utopia" Linda Koch was able to present and discuss the results of her master thesis on co-production of Westernized and Localized knowledge in the field of agroecology, thus providing a good basis for her PhD project.
