Visiting Lecturers from India 2016

Prof. Dr. Ummu Salma Bava

Prof. Bava visited our Institute in December 2016. The renowned professor from New Delhi was involved in several seminars at the Division of European Studies and International Relations, teaching on topics ranging from Indian domestic politics to India and the United Nations. As a partner in the projects "Foundations of the Indo-European Strategic Partnership" and the ICAS:MP Centre of Advanced Studies, she participated in several working sessions.

Prof. Bava teaches and does research as a Professor for European Studies at JNU in New Delhi. In January 2012 she was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit for her personal effort in building German-Indian Relations.

Prof. Dr. Sanjay Chaturvedi

Prof. Dr. Sanjay Chaturvedi (Picture: WOSCE), visited the Institute for Political Science and Sociology for the first time in summer 2015. He is a Professor for Political Science at the Department of Political Science at Panjab University in Chandigarh. In summer semester 2016, he will again teach in several courses on European Studies and International Relations.

Prof. Chaturvedi teaches and does research in the field of International Relations, especially theory and Geopolitics in the Indian Ocean region. He also focuses on the topics Climate Change and Sustainability.

Dr. Krishna Swamy Dara

Dr. Krishna Swamy Dara teaches at the Department of Political Science at Jamia Millia Islamia (Islamic University) in New Delhi. He was a guest at the Institute in November and December 2013 and will visit Würzburg for the second time in summer semester 2016.

Dr. Dara focuses on political philosophy and philosophy of law, history of political thought in India and political ideas in the West. In summer semester 2016, he will teach alongside PD Dr. Michael Becker in the Master's course "Constitutional Democracy".
