On September 19th, 2026, Dr. Christoph Mohamad-Klotzbach gave an online lecture on “Public Policy and the Far Right” as part of the Graduate course on “The Far Right in the 21st Century: Electoral and Party Impacts and Political Agendas” at the Brazilian universities UFRGS (Rio de Janeiro) and IESP-UERJ (Porto Alegre).

Sabine Kehr und Christoph Mohamad-Klotzbach haben im Rahmen des Themenschwerpunkts „Demokratie unter Druck“ einen Beitrag zum Thema „Herausforderungen und Konsequenzen in demokratischen Krisenzeiten“ in der DVPB-Zeitschrift „Forum Politikunterricht“ veröffentlicht.

Dr. Philipp Gieg and Jun.-Prof. Ulrike Zeigermann from IPS have published a call for papers for a proposed panel on "The Politics of Ecocide: Multi-Level Perspectives on Criminalizing Environmental Harm" at the 29th IPSA World Congress of Political Science, which will take place at the Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali in Rome from 24–28 July 2027.

Eine neue internationale Forschungsagenda würdigt die wegweisende Arbeit der verstorbenen Prof. Dr. Kristine Kern vom Leibniz-Institut für Raumbezogene Sozialforschung (IRS), die sich mit dem Klimaschutz auf der Governance-Ebene beschäftigte. IPS-Wissenschaftlerin Ulrike Zeigermann ist Ko-Autorin des Beitrags.

This was the topic of an Online-Seminar on “Teaching Sustainability across Social Sciences, Political Science and Law: Critical Approaches to the SDGs in Higher Education” on July 23rd, 2026, which was organized by Ana Colomer Segura (Universitat de València) and Christoph Mohamad-Klotzbach (JMU Würzburg).

From July 6-8, 2026, MARKOPOLO members Ulrike Zeigermann and Christoph Mohamad-Klotzbach (both JMU Würzburg) participated at the 5th International Workshop on Public Policy (IWPP) of the International Public Policy Association (IPPA) in Ottawa.
