07.05.2025: Master's research projects
Presentation of the Master’s research projects on the topic “Transformation of Boundaries”
As part of the Forum Sustainability event series for the summer term 2025 on the topic of “Negotiating, communicating and legalizing global sustainability goals”, the kick-off event took place on 7 May 2025.
After a brief welcome and introductory words on the Master's research project by Philipp Raab, Jun-Prof. Dr. Ulrike Zeigermann and Prof. Dr. Elke Wagner, Jack Lahr moderated the presentation round of the Master's research projects by and for Master's students. The overarching theme of the previous year was “Transformation of borders”.
Students on the Master's degree programs in Political and Social Science and Sozialwissenschaftliche Nachhaltigkeitsforschung offered an insight into their research projects and their experiences. In addition, the students who will carry out the upcoming Master's research projects had the opportunity to ask the Master's students from the previous year specific questions about the process, among other things. This led to a lively exchange!
The following projects were presented:
- “Climate activist narrations: Narratives as a tool for socio-economic transformation” (Social Science Sustainability Research)
by Marlene Andexinger, Jack Lahr, Felix Sudhopp, Antonia Vennemann
- “Ecologically sustainable mobility behavior in Würzburg and the relevance of individual environmental orientation” (Methods of Quantitative Empirical Social Research)
by Katharina Heger, Lisa Eisert, Janis Diener, Luisa Till
- “Frozen fronts despite melting borders? - Geopolitical tensions in the Arctic” (International Relations & European Studies)
by Hjördis Diestel, Dennis Kirsch, Marlene Kunz, Chiara Schmitt, Emma Thorwart
The events of the Forum Sustainability will be organized in interdisciplinary cooperation with the Chair of Social Science Sustainability Research, the Chair of Public Law and International Economic Law, the Department of Political Theory and the Chair of International Relations and European Studies.
