Research workshop on Social Science Sustainability Research
As part of the Forum Sustainability event series, a research workshop on the topic of “Negotiating, communicating and legalizing global sustainability goals” took place on 2nd July 2025. The event was dedicated to current findings from field research.
After a brief welcome and introductory words by Jun-Prof. Dr. Ulrike Zeigermann, five experts presented exciting impulses from their current research projects:
- Prof. Dr. Paul Kevenhörster from the University of Münster opened with a political science classification of current challenges.
- Dr. Ana Colomer from the University of Valencia presented findings from her research on legal-philosophical challenges with regard to sustainability issues.
- Hannah Korinth from the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research shared insights from her field research in Brussels and explained key aspects of her PhD project.
- Linda Koch JMU Würzburg reported on her field research in Italy as part of her PhD project.
- Julian Höfner from JMU Würzburg also gave insights into his PhD project on identity politics.
The research workshop provided a valuable platform for discussing current research projects and initial findings, as well as an opportunity to network with colleagues from different disciplines.
The events of the Forum Sustainability will be organized in interdisciplinary cooperation with the Chair of Social Science Sustainability Research, the Chair of Public Law and International Economic Law, the Department of Political Theory and the Chair of International Relations and European Studies. The research workshop could also be credited towards the GSiK Certificate in Sustainability and Global Responsibility!
