Winter and Summer Semester

The academic year at the University of Würzburg is divided into two semesters (winter semester and summer semester):

• Summer semester 2025: 01.04.2025 – 30.09.2025
• Winter semester 2025/2026 01.10.2025 – 31.03.2026
• Summer semester 2026: 01.04.2026 – 30.09.2026
• Winter semester 2026/27: 01.10.2026 – 31.03.2027
• Summer semester 2027: 01.04.2027 – 30.09.2027
• Winter semester 2027/28: 01.10.2027 – 31.03.2028
   

Lecture Period

In winter semester, lectures run from mid-October to mid-February. In summer semester, lectures run from mid-April to mid-July:

• Lecture period in summer semester 2025: 22.04.2025 – 25.07.2025
• Lecture period in winter semester 2025/2026: 13.10.2025 – 06.02.2026
• Lecture period in summer semester 2026: 13.04.2026 – 17.07.2026
• Lecture period in winter semester 2026/27: 12.10.2026 – 05.02.2027
• Lecture period in summer semester 2027: 12.04.2027 – 16.07.2027
• Lecture period in winter semester 2027/28: 18.10.2027 – 11.02.2028
   

Exams

Exams at our institute are usually at the end of every lecture period.
